The President of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), Rudy Fictenbaum, has weighed in on tenure and shared governance protections in the UW System. In a June 3, 2015 letter to Ray Cross and Michael Falbo, Fichtenbaum offered the services and recommendations of the AAUP to ensure that the UW System continues to value the voices of its faculty and staff.
Of particular interest, however, is the attached document, called "Recommended Institutional Regulations on Academic Freedom and Tenure." It provides sample handbook language on policies and procedures recommended by the AAUP.
